We are pleased to welcome Jeff Schmidt as our special guest speaker this month! Jeff is a meteorologist and a member of the team at Guy Carpenter, helping their member companies navigate catastrophic weather exposures. He will be joining us virtually. However, we are holding our meeting in person at Lititz Mutual Insurance Company with a virtual option to connect via Zoom (details below).

A brief bio on Jeff:
For over 5 years, he has been at the forefront of weather risk management, working as a meteorologist within the catastrophe modeling space of the insurance and reinsurance industry. He is currently an Assistant Vice President at Guy Carpenter and his goal is to help insurance carriers better understand their exposure to catastrophes and weather risk. Prior to working at Guy Carpenter, he was a Research Scientist at Chubb, where he led the company's global event response efforts.

He has working experience in a number of cross-functional areas, including real-time event response, weather and climate related research and development, geographic information systems (GIS), and spatial analytics software. He holds his Associate in Reinsurance (ARe) designation and has multiple years of work experience at both a primary insurance carrier and a reinsurance broker. He has a proven track record with strong analytical and communication skills demonstrated in day-to-day workflow with both internal and external clients.
